Style Coalition's 5th Annual Fashion 2.0 Awards
Where: Merkin Concert Hall
Other details: Speaking in hashtags has been turned into a well-known spoof thanks to Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake, and last night's announcers played along at the 5th Annual Fashion 2.0 Awards. If you haven't heard of this amazing honor for innovative brands, then you must be #livingunderarock and #needtojumponthebandwagon. As keynote speaker Zac Posen told us backstage, "I didn't have a cell phone until the age of 26," and later remarked he had to "grow up," referring to his growth within the digital world. With over 409k followers on Instagram and a whopping 2,996 likes of last night's crowd group shot, we say he has grown up quite nicely. Modestly, he claims that when he first started developing his social media, all his friends told him he was doing it completely wrong and that he used the words "love" and "genius" too much. He joked that soon there would be "social media etiquette guides."

The host and perfect personable personality Robert Verdi live tweeted the event, and talked about how you're not supposed to "spam the feed." In other words, he has learned in his day-to-day to space out his tweets. Coco Rocha, one of last night's presenters, discussed social etiquette saying, "if you have a loud voice you better have something important to say." (#youlearnsomethingneweveryday) And really, learning and growing is what Fashion 2.0 is all about. It celebrates the brands that are learning and implementing new ways to connect with their consumers through various social platforms. Some of the big winners last night are brands who have accomplished all of this and continue to grow, like Chanel (For Best Online Video), Warby Parker (Visionary Awards), Acustom Apparel (Best Startup Fashion Winner), and ASOS (Top Innovator). To all the nominees and fabulous winners, we thank you for the constant entertainment and for helping us keep our taste in YouTube accounts respectable/enlightening and our feeds fashionably inspired. #cheers
