-Always ask about the "exposures," that is; which direction does the apartment face? South facing windows will get the most light, and apartments with north facing windows may not get much direct sun at all. Corner apartments are great because they provide a "double exposure," and thus more light in a densely built city.
-When you walk into an apartment, make sure to "compliment" some feature that you like. It will help you remember the apartment later on when you're considering your options, and will make you look at the positives in a place that you may not fall in love with immediately.
