A luxury penthouse set in the clocktower of New York City's former police building, complete with a newly discovered secret room? Sounds more like the lair of Batman than of Calvin Klein, but then again, they're both decidedly low-key. The former residence of the designer, who apparently sold it in the mid-2000s, is back on the market after taking a 12 percent price cut, going from $39.9 million to $35 million. Though the 5,500-square-foot, four-level residence sits atop one of the most unique residential buildings in the city, its place on the market has not budged in a year. With four bedrooms, four and a half baths, and TWO kitchens, we can't see where it's wanting. There's even a "dome sanctuary" hidden behind the clock, a secret room that was just recently discovered by a designer for the current owners. Needless to say, it looks like a great place to get some peace and quiet downtown. Located at 240 Centre Street, the old NYPD headquarters still has its legal-looking facade, despite having been converted in 1988. Who knows, maybe it's haunted. Nevertheless, it certainly is beautiful.
