Thomas Carter, Ignacio MattosLocated between Mott and Mulberry, Estela is a Nolita-Neighborhood favorite serving tapas-style dining with a few selections of entrées. Chef Ignacio Mattos is known for his erratic and eccentric menus, most recently at the restaurant Isa in Williamsburg and previously at Il Buco. Some of Estela’s most notable dishes are the Raw Scallops with Citrus and Bronze Fennel and the Beef Tartare and Sunchoke. Estela is probably most famous for its Ricotta Dumplings served with snap peas and shelling beans. The restaurant also offers an extensive wine menu focusing on French and Italian wines.
