Amaranth, another restaurant where ladies who lunch, lunch, is one of those decidedly Upper East Side establishments one aspires to look like they belong at. They've a chic sort of brevity to their brunch offerings, but that's more than fine, since I can't imagine Jackie Kennedy ever flipping through page after page, starving off the waiter because she's can't decide what she wants. Order the fontina omelette, and then continue to saunter your way up Madison.
