Give Your Time at the Park Slope Armory
With the Carnegie Hall closed and left with nowhere to play, London's Belcea Quartet headed to the Park Slope Armory Shelter last Tuesday to play for the nearly 500 Far Rockaway evacuees, who were mostly disabled or senior citizens from nursing homes. But the Armory still has nearly 350 people stranded and needs volunteers and donations to help those who came with nothing much more than the clothes on their back. The volunteer shifts are four-hours long, and mostly needed at night.
