NY: Public Transportation
The winner of the best public transportation is... NYC! The subway is one of the most convenient ways to travel, not to mention easy to navigate. There are many apps to help you navigate, such as HopStop, or you can just google "directions to ______," click the train icon, and you'll get a subway route.
LA's public transportation is nothing compared to NY's. People will either drive their own cars or they take Ubers. Taking the bus or train is not as common as it is in NY.
