Amalia Ulman, 26
The Argentinian-born artist Amalia Ulman first got our attention with her 2014 Instagram project where she used social media as performance art. Her fictional alter-ego, who documented everything from breast implants to booty popping, fooled thousands of followers and turned that #selfie cam on all of us obsessed with online culture. Titled "Excellences & Perfections," it is now archived at the New Museum.
