If you really want to take a road trip through the country, head to central Vermont. Stay at the Inn at Round Barn Farm, converted from an 1800's farmhouse and horse barn into an inn that sits on 250 acres. They also have a certified organic greenhouse, so you can enjoy your breakfast, lunch and dinner knowing you're eating nothing but fresh ingredients. All rooms have mountain and meadow views, and it's a short distance from Sugarbush Mountain, a local ski spot.
