In New York, I kept later hours, since the bars are open until 4am and most fun places generally only became fun after midnight. In Los Angeles, most places will start to herd you out after 1:45am. Which makes sense, since there is no reliable form of public transportation, and no establishment wants to be tied to a DUI. For those who haven’t found a special someone at the end of the evening, the goal becomes to find an after party. Occasionally, the after party is a re-purposed warehouse in the Valley DJed by Elijah Wood. Most times, it’s at someone’s house. So smile, and network! [Photo via]
