Madison Square Garden was... a wedding? The setting was anything but intimate when musician Sly Stone and model Kathy Silva said "I Do." In June 1974, family, friends, and a crowd of 21,000 fans gathered in
Madison Square Garden to watch the couple tie the knot on stage. The crowd cheered mightily as the bishop stated "I now pronounce you husband and wife." After the couple shared a kiss, the wedding party exited the stage and Sly and the Family Stone blew the crowd away with an astounding performance. The wedding reception was held after the concert at the
Waldorf-Astoria, where they partied the night away.
