ROFLThing, the conference devoted to discussing the cultural effect of internet memes, came to town yesterday. After a long, hard day of discussing the origins of the Chuck Norris Fact Generator and Twittering cats, internet celebrities and tech media luminaries alike descended upon Egyptian-themed Moomia Lounge to dance the night away. In attendance were a veritable who's who of the online media world, including Sarah Austin (Pop 17), Alexis Ohanian (co-founder, Reddit) and "Obama Girl" Amber Lee Ettinger.

Mixing it up on the dance floor to the sounds of Serious Bu$iness were many regulars of the New York tech media party scene, including Tumblr founder David Karp, I'm In Like With You founder Charles Forman, and and CNet writer Caroline McCarthy. College Humor founder Jakob Lodwick's enthusiastic shirtless dancing amused many of the partygoers, causing Rex Sorgatz to joke, "If Lodwick took his shirt off, I'm taking my pants off." Other guests like Jessica Amason (Urlesque), Richard Blakeley (Gawker), Rachel Sklar (The Daily Beast), and Glynnis MacNicol (Fishbowl NY) relaxed near Moomia's large sarcophagus with some pineapple hookah and lively conversation. Whether they were discussing the future of online video over cocktails or shaking it disco-style, this Afterparty For The Internets showed everyone a good time.
