Phillips Exeter Academy Child Porn Problem
Parents typically send their children to schools like Phillips Exeter Academy for a prestigious education and ingrained sense of superiority. In 1992, however, perceptions were far less about privilege and more about porn: as demonstrated by a tragic and exploitive relationship between a teacher and student. Larry Lane Bateman was one of the school's most popular drama teachers, which is precisely why the entire community was shocked when he admitted to taking pornographic photos of a 16 year old student, as well as owning more than 300 pornographic videos of teenage boys. Bateman was convicted on child-pornography charges. Trust no one who pretends to be someone else for a living.
