Anna KareninaAnna Karenina took home the Oscar gold for Best Costume Design, thanks to the designs of Jacqueline Durran, the second British designer nominated. She cites Balenciaga and Dior's 1950s couture gowns as the inspiration behind the recreation of Leo Tolstoy's late 19th century Russian novel. She also won the category at BAFTA after previously loosing for Pride and Prejudice and Atonement.
