French Elle
For their January 2013 issue, French Elle chose the theme "Marriage for all!" proudly declaring their support of the proposed bill. Valerie Toranian, the editorial director, recognizes the complexity of the debate
and is quoted as saying,
"This debate is not primarily between old and modern, right and left, homophobes and progressives: there are gay, pro-marriage Catholics; left, and right-leaning psychologists fiercely attached to the symbolism of gender difference as a necessity for [raising] any potential child."
