Pierre Berge
Pierre Bergé, the longtime business partner of Yves Saint Laurent, hosted an invitation-only soiree at the Rond-Point on the Champs-Elysee last month. The guests included 1,000 of the city's most prominent socialites, artists, and politicians. There were performances, philosophical readings, and speeches - all in support of same-sex marriage. Bergé and Saint Laurent were joined in a civil solidarity pact, which offers couples some of the rights of marriage.
