A Letter to My Daughters

A Letter to My Daughters
In 1998, the Obamas welcomed their first child Malia Ann, and a few years later baby sister Natasha (Sasha) was born. In a Parade Magazine interview, Obama shared "A Letter to My Daughters" explaining a little more about why he decided to take his family through this journey.
I soon found that the greatest joy in my life was the joy I saw in yours [Sasha and Malia]. And I realized that my own life wouldn’t count for much unless I was able to ensure that you had every opportunity for happiness and fulfillment in yours. In the end, girls, that’s why I ran for President: because of what I want for you and for every child in this nation.
