The governor of Ohio, John Kasich, put in his bid for the chance to be the 2016 Republican nominee. A former U.S. House Armed Services Committee, Kasich was a large supporter of Reagan’s national security policies and was an integral part of ending the cold war. Kasich states on his webpage that balancing the federal budget will be his first priority, saying that his experience in creating multi billion dollar surpluses for Ohio and acting as U.S. House Budget committee chairman rightfully qualifies him for this position.
