Champ d'Or Estate - Hickory Creek, TX
A baroque French chateau is the last thing you'd expect to find in Texas, but alas, rich people have little qualms. The name of the estate, which means "Field of Gold," comes directly from its original owners, Alan and Shirley Goldfield, who had it built in 2002. The 25-acre property includes a 48,000-square-foot mansion, a lake, a tennis court, indoor and outdoor pools, and a Versailles-style ballroom. Casual.
