The Dawn of Snapchat

The Dawn of Snapchat
-So since we all know the sort of pervy undertones of Snapchat, it should be no surprise that the idea of "disappearing photos" was a conversation starter among the frat bros of Kappa Sigma (which got kicked off Stanford's campus while Evan was their chapter's social chair). -The hatch took place between Evan and Reggie Brown in a dorm room in 2011. They soon after enlisted the help of older frater Bobby Murphy, who wrote code. Since Evan designed the user interface, Reggie (the English major) soon felt out of the loop. -Picaboo, the first version of the app, launched in July 2011, but drama ensued, and Reggie was finally excommunicated from the project. (The drama has since moved to a courtroom, of course.) [Photo: The two remaining co-founders, Bobby Murphy, Evan SpiegelĀ via]
