Steve AokiThe City of Angels is blowing up with anything but: party people abound, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Steve Aoki and 90210’s Tristan Wilds hit up the Dim Mak concert, Lindsay Lohan brought her corset clad bod to the Nu Pop Movement at Kitson, Stephanie Pratt and Lo Bosworth opened new lingerie store Undrest, as did the star of The Hills New York counterpart, Whitney Port. That’s just the beginning. Superheroes are walking the streets (and occasionally, socking people), and super star celebs are working the art scene. More»

Recycled Bowling Lane Furniture. Bowling has enjoyed a renaissance ever since The Big Lebowski brought it and White Russians back into the popular consciousness. Now, you can bring the sport (yes, we’ll consider it a sport) into your own living room with furniture made out of salvaged wood straight from a defunct LA bowling alley. Sure, The Dude’s got a different way of “going green,” but he’d no doubt approve.

Hundreds of Los Angeles ravers congregated at The Shrine for a two-day music festival featuring Steve Aoki, DeadMau5, and Justice. (Interestingly, the flyer notes that dolls and plush toys are strictly forbidden in the concert zone??) After looking at these sometimes NSFW pictures, it’s hard not to wonder “What would their grandparents think?” Well, we’ve got some ideas… More»

Steven Spielberg, Drew BarrymoreYesterday “Whip It” premiered in Los Angeles at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Steven Spielberg, Shenae Grimes, Justin Long, Quentin Tarantino and Serena Williams walked the red carpet with stars Ellen Paige and Drew Barrymore, the latter of which made her directorial debut with the movie. The Texas based flick follows Paige, an indie-rock loving misfit who finds meaning in suburbia after stumbling on a roller derby league. More»

January Jones [January Jones. All photos by ANDREAS BRANCH for PMc]. Yesterday, Los Angeles Bible Variety and Lifetime celebrated the Power of Women with an inaugural luncheon at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel. Those supporting the impacting female included Mad Men’s January Jones, Anne Hathaway, AnnaLynne McCord, Paula Abdul, Sigourney Weaver, Terrence Howard, Christina Aguilera, Christina Applegate, Jamie Lee Curtis, Maria Bello and Gary Marshall. So which coast has the edge on pool parties? The West coast gets spoiled with summer weather all year, so you’d think they have the genre down. On the other hand, the East coast really packs everything it can into the season of sun. Brief, but aggressive. After a Jay-Z appearance and shows from bands including Girl Talk, we’d say Brooklyn’s JELLY properly represents our hood. There’s the celeb factor, amazing music, hipster summer fashions, and the city skyline. More»

Joseph Gordon LevittChristopher Nolan’s latest film pairs talent from recent indie classics and Hollywood royalty. Ellen Page and Joseph Gordon Levitt, who is coming off of the summer love hit, “500 Days of Summer” are teaming up with Leonardo DiCaprio for the action sci-fi thriller where a CEO finds himself caught in a blackmailing scandal. It is currently set for a July 2010 release date, so these Los Angeles shoots are the closest we’ll get to the flick before next season. More»

Christian Audigier

It hasn’t been long since someone who could singlehandedly represent New Jersey’s finest last popped up, pajama’d out with Izzy Gold. Sippin’ his vino, doing his thang. Well, he’s back: Christian Audigier was in Los Angeles yesterday to present the new Ed Hardy collection at the Who’s Next 2009 show. With a tattoo inked tour bus, and ladies head to toe in lions and roses and other things keeping it classy, it was quite the site. And nice red pants. More amazingness, below… More»

Yesterday, friends and family of the late Adam Goldstein, aka DJ AM, gathered at the Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary in Los Angeles for a private funeral. Among the mourners was Blink 182 band member Travis Barker, the only survivor besides AM of a tragic plane crash in 2008. It is the injuries from this sad event which are said to have plunged AM back into drug use, needing pain killers after nearly a decade of sobriety. The exact cause still awaiting confirmation, AM’s passing is likely linked (speculation heavy on either overdose or suicide) to the crack, crack pipe and OxyContin found in his system and hear his body in the SoHo apartment where he was found. Bradley Cooper Doesn’t this man look like trouble? In a good way (the kind that annoys your father). Well, Bradley Cooper’s good looks will hopefully make for some lovely film going as he partners with Sandra Bullock for “All About Steve,” premiering at Mann’s Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles, yesterday. His co-star picked an interesting ensemble (pictured below), possibly as an ode to her character in the movie, an eccentric crossword puzzler. Are “puzzlers” ever not eccentric? Unclear. More»

Spencer Pratt, Heidi Montag Pratt[Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag Pratt. Photos via Cobrasnake]. We’re not sure why Spencer is wearing what appears to be conflicting religious garb, but him and the wifey were hanging out with the Playboy model’s bossman, Brent Bolthouse, as well as 90210’s Shenae Grimes, Nicky Hilton and others whose beauty possibly rivaled the art on display, at which no one seems to actually be looking. Oh well. More»
