You don't need to make the journey out the desert to see some quality live music this weekend unless country crooning is your jam. But for those who will not be sporting their finest jorts and Stetsons at Stagecoach, there is some really awesome live music happening right here in L.A. this weekend that we highly recommend you try to see. From the one and only Depeche Mode to Crystal Castles and Wavves, we've gathered the top shows for you in this guide to L.A.'s best live music to see this weekend. More>>

Everyone getting pumped for Stagecoach?? Oh, not this year? Well there's lots of really awesome non-Confederate-loving, corn-fed live music happening here in L.A. over the next few days that can probably makeup for missing Toby Keith. You know, Depeche Mode playing the smallest venue they've ever performed in L.A., two Crystal Castles shows--that sort of thing. We've gathered it all for you here in this handy guide to L.A.'s best live music to see this week, so get up and go see a show, dammit!

Hey, everybody, who'd you hang out with this weekend? If your answer hits all the familiar standards: your buddy down the street, your significant other, the totally awesome banjo-playing hobo behind the 7-Eleven, etc, then you probably just spent a nice quiet break at home. On the other hand, if you tell us that you were hanging with Thor, Chewbacca, and Indiana Jones, you either have way better drugs than we do, or you were in San Diego for the annual madness that is Comic-Con. And while there's surely plenty of announcements and movie news to discuss, we'll cut right to our favorite part: gawking at the sometimes impressive, often elaborate, and always hilarious costumes. • Port Of San Diego officials apologize for completely botching this year's "Big Bay Boom" 4th Of July fireworks event, and are reportedly attempting to investigate why, exactly, they accidentally set off ALL OF THEIR FIREWORKS at the same time, 5 minutes before the show was scheduled to start. Oops. There's video at the link. [LA Weekly]
  • The Biebs gets the cops called on him (by an L.A. City Councilman) for weaving through traffic at 90+ mph on the 101, but he claims that he was merely trying to escape a team of paparazzi cars that were aggressively harassing him. Maybe this is why teenagers shouldn't be allowed to drive $150,000 custom electric sports cars; my first car couldn't even get up to 90 mph. [TMZ] More»

John Stamos, child star Bailee Madison and Grammy-nominee Dave Koz host a gala to benefit the lives of terminally and chronically ill children; Natassja Kinski and Marisa Tomei join Gene Kelly's widow for an evening at paying tribute to the legendary film star and the scope of his innovations in direction and choreography; Julia Roberts, Amy Smart, Julia Louis-Dreyfuss and Peter Fonda kick off their shoes for a beachside benefit for Heal The Bay in Santa Monica; Drew Brees hosts actors, Olympians, military heroes and former baseball greats for the kickoff of his celebrity golf tournament. There was plenty of action last night in SoCal and we've got all the details in this TGIF edition of Last Night's Parties! More»

Who doesn't enjoy a good parade? Crowds of drunk people singing and dressed like assholes, smoke bombs and confetti, flag twirlers and floats make for a more exciting weekend afternoon than you could pull off on your own. But St. Patrick's day makes for the best parade of the year (except when the Giants win the Superbowl, of course).  It's paRAGE season everyone, and here's a list of the best St. Patty's Day parades this year. After several days of being weened off Belvedere since his return from Park City, Party Baby has resurfaced to give us the final rundown of his Sundance coverage with the lovely Michelle Marie. We didn't think it could get much wilder than the escapades of going absolutely H.A.M. with Wiz Khalifa, Danny Masterson and Paris Hilton he recounted for us last time, but it appears this brash little party monster was only just warming up. From front row at the Aziz Ansari and Drake show and passing out on DJ booths to being fed fine gourmet  by world famous NYC chefs and man-kisses with NFL linebackers, see what kind of trouble Party Baby was causing towards the end of his adventure to Utah. When the GofG L.A. team originally confirmed that we were sending our precious little angel, also known as Party Baby, to Sundance in the company of the lovely Michelle Marie, we always trusted him to represent on our behalf—the little guy was, after all, born to rock—but admittedly, we worried there might be some baby haters out there that wouldn't give him a chance to win them over. Those fears were quickly put to rest with one look at the photos of Party Baby's Friday night out in Park City, where the lil' beast threw down with everyone from Paris Hilton to Wiz Khalifa at the hottest nightlife events at Sundance. Let's take a look at his Friday afternoon and night, in his own words. MORE>>

Everything's different in Canada. I mean, I guess we already knew that before Chromeo became the latest band from Montreal to blow up with an infectious, creative sound that hipsters and dance partiers can love with equal fervor, but maybe even those of us who are used to going up north for our music (and prescription drugs) didn't realize just how different America's Hat was. Being a DJ must be completely exhausting. I don't necessarily mean that in the Deadmau5, "pounding a bottle of absinthe before I go on stage," celebrity definition of exhaustion, although that certainly happens. It's just that all the crazy lights, anime robots, thumping dubstep beats, and raving teenagers must really wear you down. I can't even watch an hour of Transformers 3 without wanting to take a nap. And if you're Skrillex, the "boy king of electronic dance music," and you basically play a new show every night? I'm worn out just thinking about it. More»
