Good News For Nostalgic Pokémon Go Addicts

by Jane Ninivaggi · July 15, 2016

Yesterday Nintendo announced that in November they would be releasing the Nintendo Entertainment System Classic Edition: a miniature version of their legendary vintage software. Originally released in the '80s, this retro console aims to remind gamers why they fell in love with Nintendo in the first place (Mario Bros. - duh). It will come with 30 built-in games, an iconic gamepad controller, and can connect to your TV via a HDMI cable. I think we might actually have to buy a TV now - f*ck.

The system will be released on November 11th for $59.99 and a generation's worth of nostalgic angst is expected to release subsequently. After the recent news of Pokémon Go Plus, a small bracelet device that connects to your smartphone via bluetooth and alerts you of nearby Pokémon action (and potential Pikachus), Nintendo may just finish the year with record popularity. Finally, someone is letting us live.
