Teen Trades Cell Phone For Porsche
Whether it was all luck or strategy, Steven Ortiz, a 17-year-old boy may have had the most successful bartering on Craigslist. He made 14 swaps on Craigslist over 2 years to turn his used cell phone into a Porsche.
It all started when his friend gave him a free phone and he put it up on Craigslist's barter section. From the original phone he traded up, acquiring an iPod touch, a dirt bike, a Mac Book Pro, a golf cart, a Toyota 4Runner, and a Ford Bronco. The Bronco ended up being a collectible and he landed himself the Porsche.
He spent up to 6 hours every day looking through Craigslist and researching for good deals that would best fit his situation.
His secret to good bartering?
