What Do Bad Fortune Cookie Fortunes Mean For Civilization?

I'm a big fan of fortune cookies, so I was excited to hear that someone out there cares about the quality that goes into the fortunes found inside:
Wall Street Journal columnist Ralph Gardner, Jr. writes in
his latest column that a lack of quality fortune-cookie fortunes is yet another sign of the decline of civilization. Gone are the days, he writes, when we could count on pearls of wisdom arriving in our takeout bags. His reasoning behind this conclusion? Our need for "political correctness."
