Yerevan, Armenia

actuallyteaThe first Christian nation in the world is experiencing a tourism boom. The landlocked country is not a typical tourist destination, but with its extensive history, beautiful monasteries, high mountains, and incredible scenery, it's hard not to pass through. Vacationing here is very cheap, the locals are sweet to foreigners (they don't see many), and the food is superb. Spend time in the spa town of Jermuk, visit Mount Ararat (Where Noah's Ark landed) and head to Tsitsernakaberd, the Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex located in the center of Yerevan. This April marks the 100th anniversary of the genocide, and on the eve of the anniversary (24th of April) System of a Down will play a special tribute concert. George Clooney and the Kardashians will also be in attendance, raising awareness of the atrocities committed. [Photo via]
