Heli-Skiing The K2: Gilgit–Baltistan, Pakistan

Heli-Skiing The K2: Gilgit–Baltistan, Pakistan
Known as the 'Savage Mountain,' the K2 is the second highest mountain in the world with a peak elevation of 28,251 ft. The rational thing to do on this insanely high mountain: heli-ski down it. Heli-skiing is a form of downhill skiing on off-trail routes that can only be accessed by helicopter. The appeal of heli-skiing is natural: you get to experience fresh powder snow in peaceful terrains without massive lines of ski school children or snowboarders. [Photo via]
