The Cadogan

The Cagodan, London, England
London's Sloane Street may have recently gained recognition as the place of Pippa Middleton's frequent shopping sprees, but before there was Pippa, another big name was parading around the same Chelsea street. In 1895, Oscar Wilde was arrested at the Sloane Street hotel The Cagodan, and charged with "committing acts of gross indecency with other male persons." Years later, the poet John Batjeman immortalized Wilde's wild night in the poem The Arrest of Oscar Wile at the Cadogan Hotel. The Cadogan, 75 Sloane Street, London [Photo via]
