Costa Rica

Tortuguero National ParkWhen the word ecotourism comes up, it is almost always followed by “Costa Rica.” Such is the reputation of this bio diverse country, as everything is built around the adventures and discoveries to be had there. Not only is the country full of lush, green forests, but it is also home to 14 volcanoes. In fact, one of the most famous tourist spots is Poás Volcano National Park, where you can literally stand at the edge of the crater. You can also head to Tortuguero National Park, if you want to be in the company of sloths, or witness the nesting of the endangered green turtle. And when you are done zip lining through jungles, white water rafting, and hiking volcanoes, there is always the option of sipping a cocktail on the beach. [Photo via @travelballoons]
