Eau de Pope
It was
recently reported that The Vatican commissioned celebrity perfumer, Silvana Casoli, to create a personalized scent for Pope Benedict. Casoli has mixed oils and ingredients in her northern Italy lab for other big names like
Madonna,
Sarah Jessica Parker, and
Sting. When people from the Vatican called requesting that she make a perfume for the holiest man on earth, her nerves got the best of her and she considered backing out of the project. Casoli managed to find the inspiration (perhaps with the help of some divine intervention) she needed to work on eau de Pope. Even though she's required to keep the details of her heavenly scent under wraps, she did reveal that she drew from the Pope's love of nature (who knew??) when concocting the perfume. She included a mixture of fragrances from lime-wood, verbena, and grass for his personalized scent.
Unfortunately, the Pope's perfume will never be available to the public. This one's for the Pope's skin only.
