Chocolate City Rest in Peace
After photographing subjects in Washington for over 22 years, Steven M. Cummings has observed a pattern of gentrification and its effect on the area.
From The Vivid Solutions Gallery:
"...he has come to realize the city is chocolate no more. The final curtain is beginning to draw on the black majority. This exhibit puts forth a small selection of the scenes he has captured. The included images attest to the special relationship he has formed with the city."
Cummings' photographs have exhibited at the Smithsonian, among other places.
The Gallery at Vivid Solutions will host a reception for the exhibition this Friday, July 12, from 6-9pm.
