Kimpton Hotels of Washington DC and Urbana Restaurant & Wine Bar will host Kimpton’s seventh annual “Red Hot Night” in the nation’s capital on the eve of World AIDS Day, Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011.
The red-hot cocktail party, which will benefit Whitman-Walker Health, is part of Kimpton’s nationwide Red Ribbon Campaign, a national initiative dedicated to raising funds and awareness for HIV/AIDS.
A $10 admittance fee will provide guests with one drink ticket, and complimentary passed hors d'oeuvres inspired by dishes from Chef John Critchley’s seasonal menu at Urbana. Highlights include bruschetta with foie gras torchon, slow-roasted lamb rillettes, raw oysters and arancini fried wild mushroom risotto with raclette fondue.
The evening’s signature Red Ribbon Cocktail will be the restaurant’s popular Spiced Cosmo, made with house-made spiced cranberry purée, agave nectar, Thatcher’s Organic Apple Spice Ginger liqueur, and allspice liqueur. Select beer and wine will also be available.
Additional drink tickets can be purchased for $5 to be used toward the cocktails, wine and beer. The event will also feature silent auction items including a weekend getaway to Kimpton’s new Palomar San Diego with two roundtrip jetBlue tickets. All proceeds from admission tickets, featured drinks and silent auction items will go directly to Whitman-Walker Health.

Urbana Restaurant & Wine Bar is located at 2121 P Street, NW, adjacent to Palomar Washington DC, a Kimpton Hotel. Valet parking is available at the hotel for $18 plus tax, and the nearest metro stop location is Dupont Circle (red line).
