Why:
To toast the opening of Donizetti’s world-renowned comic opera, The Elixir of Love (L’elisir d’amore), Washington National Opera and Washington City Paper invite DC's top mixologists to an intoxicating battle. Each mixologist will compose his or her own interpretation of the storied love tonic. The winning concoction will be featured at the Kennedy Center throughout the run of the show, while the winning mixologist will appear in-person at a VIP intermission during the March 25 performance.
