This year, Top Chef’s Spike Mendelsohn and DC United's Bill Hamid join the fight for voting rights in the District as 3 Star Ball host committee members. The eagerly-anticipated fundraiser is all in the name of Equality for DC. The night will honor DC United and the team’s Head Coach Ben Olsen for their dedication to fulfilling the promise of democracy. In addition to Mendelsohn and Hamid, DC Vote has enlisted District of Columbia activists Vinoda Basnayake, Sarah Aburdene, Dannia Hakki and Edward “Smitty” Smith to serve on the host committee.
