Other details: On Saturday, May 2nd, Garden & Gun organized their annual Derby Social at Jack Rose! The grand event brought a little ornate Southern hospitality to DC. Guests were greeted by a gracious host with a tray of chilled mint juleps. The Southern fare continued with savory bites such as cucumber sandwiches, oysters, rich ham and cheese trays, and ham pimento cheese biscuits with shrimp. The servers and bartenders where dressed to the nines, however, the truly fashionable gems where the guests who kept the standards high for "best dressed" competition. Musical guests Young America kept the ambiance homey with country classics enriching the social experience set in Jack Roses' oaky interiors and airy open decks. The social also offered cigar pairings with ryes, whiskeys and bourbons provided by Bulleit Frontier Whiskey. The night then concluded with the most anticipated two minutes in sporting history. With floral dresses, decorative hats and spiffy bow-ties, Kentucky seemed only a healthy rye glass away!
