Details: America Abroad Media hosted their first awards dinner in honor of the power of film in the media. Aamir Kahn, one of TIME magazine's 100 Most Influential People, and Kathryn Bigelow, director of Zero Dark Thirty and The Hurt Locker, were two of the honorees. Peter Ackerman represented The International Center of Nonviolent Conflict for their celebrated documentaries that promote democratic change.
