Jacqueline Kennedy: 1962 'The Children's Tree'

Jacqueline Kennedy: 1962 'The Children's Tree'
One of the few White House Christmas Trees not to be in the Blue Room, the 1962 Kennedy administration tree was placed in the Grand Foyer. The theme, The Children's Tree, was represented thanks to the many childlike ornaments: stuffed animals, tiny twig stars, miniature presents, and reindeer. According to the White House:
"The theme in 1962 was 'The Children’s Tree' in Mrs. Kennedy’s pursuit of capturing the wonder of Christmas through the eyes of children."
