Highlights: Non-Political
Before we get into the speeches, let's take a look at some of the non-political moments that had everyone talking.
1. Sasha and Malia 2008 vs. 2012
Sasha and Malia were 7 and 10 respectively at the last DNC four years ago. The first daughters have remained largely out of the spotlight since moving into the White House in 2009, and it was fun to see just how much they've grown. Spoiler alert: Sasha got braces and Malia is now a freshman in high school! 2008 and 2012
2. Michelle's dress
No one seems to be able to stop talking about the speech Michelle Obama delivered at the convention on Tuesday night. It was such a moving address that CNN ran the headline "Will Michelle Obama's Speech Change History?" We won't know the answer to that for a while, but we do know one thing: her dress rocked. The Tracey Reese dress drew immediate attention, but we're not surprised; Michelle's been turning heads with her sartorial choices since her husband took office. [Photo via]

No one misses their fist day of high school, not even Malia Obama. While their mother was delivering the most influential speech of her career, Sasha and Malia were recovering from their first day of school in the Treaty Room at the White house. The first daughters watched the speech with their dad, before flying down to the convention on Thursday. [Photo via]
