Ghost in the Machine” isn’t a great episode, but is a personally significant episode for me. My uncle, Wayne Duvall, guest stars in this episode as Mulder’s former partner, Jerry Lamata. By the time this seventh episode aired, I was already a rabid X-Files fan and so when my uncle told me he would be on the show, I freaked. Not only did my uncle get me personalized autographs from David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson (which sits framed on my living room wall), but when my uncle told series creator Chris Carter that I was such a fan, I was the youngest person Carter knew was even watching the show. For a X-Files obsessed kid in 1993, that blew my mind.
