How did Mamaglow come about?
When I was pregnant with my son 13 years ago, I was looking for resources in holistic maternal health and realized they didn’t exist in the way I saw fit, so with the entrepreneurial spirit within me I founded the company Mama Glow. We offer nutrition support, yoga, doula services and a robust events platform. I instinctively knew that women need hand-holding when they are moving through a life-event like birth and wanted to provide that level of support for clients. We launched our film festival in 2011 with the support of Christy Turlington Burns and Selita Ebanks and our Salon Series with Ricki Lake and Abby Epstein with their film - "More Business of Being Born,” I realized when I started getting cold calls from celebrities and when Vogue magazine asked me to partner on an event early on that this birth business I was cultivating could be a big deal. Birth topics are still growing on people. We are here to transform the way women perceive their bodies and experience the birth process.
