Thematic Decor

While there's no need to go theme crazy, nor to go all aesthetically aggressive and matchy matchy with what's planned for the impending big day - hey, it's not like continuity doesn't not work.

To keep with our bride Valerie's 'Into The Woods' style, we chose a lovely, tvernal color palette of greens, whites, creams and blues, with the occasional zesty hint of citrus thrown in for flavor. To keep an elevated feel, cut the whole balloons schtick; rather, transform your space through a romantic scheme of fresh floral notes. After all, this shindig isn't sponsored by Party City. So get drenching your tables with garlands.

Don't make the terrible mistake of concentrating heavily on creating one show stopping area of the party. Get smart. Placing centerpieces in less expected spots makes every space feel touched - from a bursting arrangement balanced on an ottoman, to smaller stemmed vases tucked away on windowsills and thoughtfully perched in restrooms.

Line drops of petal ornaments punctuated the patio for a most magical air of floating florals. Simple fishing line strung through individual bud blossoms is a exrtemely easy way to create an extremely photogenic moment.

Even the smallest of decorative accessories goes a long way. Bring a smidge of humor and a laugh of whimsy by hiding pieces like this miniature garden elf.

No rock unturned, no detail unhemmed, even the cakes took note of the woodland theme - featuring a three tiered tree stump cake with rough chocolate ganache frosted bark, almond acorn kisses, and some oh so natural sprouts of actual mushrooms and sprigs of rosemary.

Once you've set the proper mise-en-scene, and settled on just the right pandora station, guests will have no option but to laze about accordingly.
