Ian Tweedy, at UNTITLED

Originally a graffiti and street artist, Ian Tweedy is known for his juxtaposition of forms, pairing video, drawing, and wall paintings in order to piece together the the fragmented forms of memory. Called a “hacker of history” by Prometeogallery, Tweedy appropriates historical artifacts – old book covers, Cold War maps, etc- and makes them his own, exploring the impact of “history out of context.”  His new show opens Sunday at UNTITLED art gallery.

Through February 26 at UNTITLED Gallery, 30 Orchard St. Opening reception Sunday, January 15, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. For more information, go HERE.
