Diane Von Furstenberg
Known as a designer and icon, Diane Von Furstenberg serves as the President of the CFDA and is an advocate for Vital Voices. The Vital Voices mission is to “identify, invest in and bring visibility to extraordinary women around the world by unleashing their leadership potential to transform lives and accelerate peace and prosperity in their communities”. After overwhelmingly positive response to the Vital Voices Democracy Initiative established by Hillary Rodham Clinton and Madeline Albright in 1997, Vital Voices Global Partnership was born in 2000. This non-profit organization provides skills, networking, and further overall support to women around the world.
Von Furstenberg also established the Diller-von Furstenberg Family Foundations (DVFF) and the DVF Awards. The DVFF’s mission is to further develop sustainable communities. The DVF awards honors women who have displayed strong characteristics of great leadership, strength, and courage in their commitment to their causes.
