Baby Chick Cupcakes

Baby Chick Cupcakes Ingredients Cupcakes 1 box white cake mix 1/3 cup flour 1 box instant vanilla pudding mix 1 1/2 cups water 1/3 cup oil 4 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/3 cup sour cream cupcake liners Buttercream Frosting 1/2 cup butter, softened 1/2 cup butter flavored shortening 1 teaspoon vanilla 4-5 cups powdered sugar 2-3 tablespoons milk dash salt food coloring gel in yellow, orange, green zip loc bags (sandwich size) Decorations white chocolate chips yellow sugar crystals Directions 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. In a large bowl, mix cake mix, vanilla pudding mix and flour. 3. Add water, oil, vanilla, eggs and sour cream. Mix until batter is nice and glossy. 4. Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners and fill each just a little over half way. 5. Bake for 15-17 minutes, or until golden brown. 6. Allow cupcakes to sit in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. 7. To make frosting, place butter and shortening into stand mixer and beat until the two are smooth. 8. Add powdered sugar, vanilla, milk and salt. Mix until smooth and glossy. Hint: if the frosting is too thin, add more powdered sugar. 9. Separate the frosting into four bowls and color each with the food coloring gel. Place 1/3 cup of each color into zip loc bags, twist and cut a small hole in the tip of the bags. 10. Frost the tops of the cupcakes with yellow frosting and dip each into the yellow sugar. 11. Give the chick some eyes with white chocolate chips. 12. Pipe some feathers, legs and pupils onto the little guys using the colored frosting bags. 13. Enjoy!
