Bonny Doon Vineyard Contra Old Vine Field Blend (2009)

Bonny Doon Vineyard Contra Old Vine Field Blend (2009)
If you're really unsure of the grape you want, but you know you want a red, this wine combines six grapes into one bottle. Grown in the Central Coast of California, the wine has a majority of carignan, a grape that grows on old vines and is usually hand-picked. When combined with the regions history of zinfandel grapes, along with grenache, mourvèdre, petit syrah and syrah, the Contra Old Field Blend turns into a fruity, dry wine with a licorice finish.
