...The results of that experience lead me to journey through Asia for 6 weeks, exploring how the Eastern art markets worked from the art fair, gallery and museum perspectives. I spent time engaging gallerists and art fair personnel through Bangkok, Seoul, Singapore, Shanghai and Hong Kong and soon after, wrote a white paper on my findings in another unsuccessful attempt to expose myself and remotely pierce the surface of this elusive world. I returned to New York, and after numerous application rejections from dozens of NYC galleries and art fair organizations, I decided to start searching for artists through open studios in Brooklyn, London & Paris on my own. Soon after, (and through a series of very chance meetings) I was finding myself juried into a booth at SCOPE Miami 2012 and VICTORI CONTEMPORARY was founded with a roster of 9 emerging artists. The rest is history.
