How could you not respect a place of business that has literally not been closed since 1924? That's how The Original Pantry Café (based on their somewhat paranoid emphasis on the word "Original," they'd have you believe that counterfeit Pantrys are a major threat) bills itself, and the result is a small, cash-only menu of timeless staples at amazingly low prices. There's no "marshmallow swirl" pancakes or anything, but the straight-up classic pancakes continue to rack up rave reviews for being
"insanely good and fluffy," and the 24/7 schedule means DTLA diner fans are never without a late-night or early-morning option.
