Slide #5

Over the years the legend of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre has extended beyond its concrete forecourt and onto the sidewalks and streets as costumed characters have become a staple of Hollywood Blvd, particularly the section right in front of the theater. This area has become a fiery warzone for these costumed characters who have taken it upon themselves to spend their days essentially panhandling in the guise of cartoon and comic book characters. Altercations both amongst the characters and between characters and tourists seem to have become more prevalent and only perpetuate the widely-held belief that L.A. is just loaded with insane cartoon characters and garden-variety freaks who like to beat the shit out of each other (See: THIS, THIS, & THIS). Aaaand here's a video of two women who decided to just fully throwdown on SpongeBob in broad daylight on Hollywood Blvd one afternoon: [Photos via, via]
