Our Favorite Movie Theater: The Arclight
If one thing is responsible for turning Hollywood from religious utopia into cesspool of immorality, it's clearly that most godless of industries, show business. And if you feel like praying at the altar of motion pictures, the Arclight Hollywood (and more specifically, the Cinerama Dome) is like the Temple Mount. Sure, you could also choose classic theaters like the Chinese or the Egyptian, but what the Arclight lacks in hand-print history, it makes up with the most pristine, quality-controlled viewing experience in any movie theater you'll ever munch popcorn in. 14 screens, perfect projection, loud-ass sound, a bar in the lobby: this is a movie theater that takes movies seriously, and it's the theater that Tinseltown deserves. 6360 W Sunset Blvd, website [photo via]
