Sally Field's Acceptance Speech
At the top of most famous Oscar speeches is probably Sally Field’s 1985 Oscar acceptance speech for best actress in Places in the Heart, in which she proclaimed to the world, “... you like me, right now, you like me!” Tons of parodies and misquotes later, the phrase is often inaccurately quoted as "You like me! You really like me," but one way or another, Sally's charming (if neurotically needy) moment of validation seemed to definitively illustrate to the world why some people choose to go into acting in the first place.
